Pharmaceutical packaging: printing and coding of medical products
In the pharmaceutical packaging sector, the need may arise to print a large amount of information on the package
When we talk about pharmaceutical packaging we are referring to a very delicate aspect: the information and coding needs of the medical product are numerous. The entire packaging process must perfectly respect the conservation parameters of the active ingredients and the safety parameters for users
pharmaceutical packaging always consists of two parts with different functional characteristics
the primary packaging in close contact with the medicine and therefore primarily responsible for its suitable conservation is primarily responsible for the correct conservation of the medicine. Here we are talking about blisters, sachets, bottles, vials, tubes, etc.
Secondary packaging instead represents the external packaging that contains the primary pack.
Leaving aside the primary pack and analyzing the problems related to the correct printing and creation of the package (secondary pack), very important needs immediately emerge such as the printing of a large series of information on the packages such as batch, date, 2D code and more.
This information must be printed according to well-defined standards with very fast-drying and long-lasting inks.
WIDE RANGE has developed a series of solutions based on the WR FEEDER friction feeder capable of processing sheets, tags, cases and coupons up to a maximum format of 250×300 millimeters in the 250 version or 400×300 in the 400 version; a powerful stepper motor guarantees a feeding speed of up to 70 meters/minute. The selection of the product to be fed takes place via rubberized wheels that work in counter-rolling, while micro-adjustments present on both the right and left sides make WR FEEDER extremely flexible on every type of product to be used. The large 300 mm high warehouse, equipped with minimum load control, guarantees great working autonomy.
WR FEEDER is equipped with a range of inkjet printers with HP technology for writing variable texts such as date, time, barcodes and texts with a maximum height from 12 mm to 100 mm at a resolution of 600 dpi.
Printing is carried out with solvent-based ink cartridges which guarantee immediate drying, high readability and durability over time
The software installed on the PC allows the creation of text in an extremely intuitive way
After printing, as an optional element, vision systems are available to check the presence of the print and its completeness with automatic shutdown in the event of a non-compliant case.
